Why do you love me?

"Why do you love me?"
"I love you because you are mine.
Because you need love.
I love you because when you look at me, I feel like a hero. It has always been like that.
I love you because when I touch you I feel a man like no other."
"I love you too."
"Why do you love me too?"
"I love you because...
when I touch you I feel a man like no other.
(giggles)
I love you because no one will be able to blame us for love.
I love you because to understand our love they would need to turn the world upside down.
I love you because you could love anybody else but even so you will still love me.
You are mine."

I don't only think that it isn't just possible, but not even necessary to write more about Aluisio Abranches' "Do Começo ao Fim" than the above extract. All you need to begin and end with it, is there. And I don't care if there are some awkward moments, and I don't care if it is about incestuous love between two brothers (which, yes - in real life is most unlikely to happen like this). As it lies there in those lines, it's a love so strong and pure that it deserves to be treated with respect, though we could not even begin to understand it...

xx Z.
